Flexible intermediate bulk containers or Big Bags are a winning solution of packaging for your business.

Big Bag is a large-sized bag that is used for transportation or storage of bulk cargo, both for food and non-food industries. The main component of flexible containers is polypropylene fabric, which, depending on variations in its density, can carry a load from 0.5 up to 3 tons. The greatest demand is for Big Bags with a carrying capacity of one ton.

It should be noted that the selected ton load also has a safety factor. By default, it is 5:1. This means that during different types of interaction (transportation, filling/discharge), a Big-Bag is able to withstand a load five times higher than in the specified characteristics. If it’s needed to increase a carrying capacity, the safety factor can be 6:1 and 8:1.

There are the following key types of flexible containers:

For additional protection of a cargo and creating air- or watertightness of container, the polypropylene fabric can be laminated or a Big Bag can be provided with a polyethylene liner.

The density of fabric varies from 60 to 300 g/m2. The polypropylene material is always with the addition of UV stabilizers to protect the fabric from sunrays. Depending on the percentage entered, UV protection extends the functionality of the container from 6 up to 18 months.

For transportation of inflammable goods, there are special antistatic Big Bags. They are made with a conductive thread woven into the base material or are made entirely of antistatic fabric. In such a way, it becomes possible to safely use bulk containers with inflammable products. It also protects the container from the influence of corrosive media (e.g. solvents and flammable gases).
